IT Support Officer - Emirates Driving Company | UAE - (Oct 2012 – Sep 2022)

  • The Emirates Driving Company (Abu Dhabi) is the foremost drivers training and road safety institute in Abu Dhabi. EDC is public joint company partially owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi. As a IT Support following are my duties;
    • System administration and maintenance of Windows Server2008 R2 / 2012 R2 / 2016/2019
    • Maintaining domain controller.
    • Installation and configuration of DHCP.
    • Performed daily backup operations ensuring file systems and system data are successfully backup to appropriate media and sent off-site as necessary.
    • Managed Active Directory, creating new accounts and ensuring employees were assigned to the proper security groups to support a policy of least privileged access.
    • VM creation using Hyper-V and configuration as per the project pre-requisites.
    • System monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server sources, reviewing system and application logs.
    • Daily backup operations ensuring file systems and system data are successfully backup to appropriate media.
    • Maintenance and installation of all kinds of local/network printers and photocopiers.
    • Diagnosis of desktop, applications, networking, and infrastructure issues.
    • Providing 1st/2nd line support to users and routing calls to proper resolution group for third tier support.
    • Support and maintenance of CCTV, Door Access, Audio/Video and QMS.
    • Configuring, testing, and troubleshooting new hardware and software.
    • Provided technical support and troubleshooting via phone, remote or on-site.
    • Coordinated the implementation of Manage Engine modules (AD360, OpManager, Desktop Central, Analytics Plus).
    • Experienced in using Service Desk Plus ticketing software.

Desktop Support - CERT-HCT |UAE - (July 2005 - Sep 2012)

  • CERT is the commercial, research and training arm of HCT which is the largest higher education institution in the UAE. As Desktop Support following were my duties;
    • Diagnosis of desktop, applications, networking, and infrastructure issues.
    • Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, projectors, smart boards, and mobile devices.
    • Support of telecommunication equipment.
    • Providing 1st/2nd line support to users.
    • Maintaining a log of all problems detected.
    • Support and maintenance for LAN.

Network Engineer - IO-2-IO |PK - (Mar 2004 to Mar 2005)

  • IO-2-IO was a software house located in Lahore. Developing ERP for insurance clients but due some financial issue closed its operation. As a Network Engineer following were my duties.
    • Domain operation Windows Server 2003, WinXP Pro and Win2000 Pro.
    • Installation and configuring of ISA Server 2002.
    • Installation and configuring of MS Exchange 2003/2007.
    • Supporting VSS.
    • Installation and configuration of IIS for company website.
