Data Scientist/ Senior Data Scientist - OCTAVE | John Keells Holdings PLC, Sri Lanka - (2019 - Present)

Conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance
Build models using supervised/unsupervised learning techniques of varying complexity
Work on the end-to-end process including initial business requirement/problem identification, Data engineering, exploratory analysis, data modelling, data visualization and finally impact tracking on use cases in multiple domains such as Insurance, Retail and Hotels
Work closely with data engineering teams to make sure the data pipelines are complete and well-integrated to provide a complete analytics solution
Collaborate with senior data scientists in building and delivering analytics models
Communicating results and complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audience
Contribute to knowledge building and sharing by researching best practices, driving ideation around the modeling process, documenting solutions and continuously iterating on new ways to solve problems
Supervise and mentor juniors in the use case building and delivery process
Business problems covered include but not limited to customer churn, cross-sell/up-sell, optimization problems (marketing, warehouse), customer acquisition and retention, etc.

Understand data, perform data exploration, cleaning, preparation and feature engineering; in addition to time spent on execution such as building a POC, validation/AB testing, developing an API and deployment
